LVCG plants 168 trees in celebration of Earth Day

Press release from the issuing company

Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas Color Graphics (LVCG) is committed to protecting and sustaining the environment every day of the year, but for Earth Day 2010 they want to celebrate in an extra special way.

Because of LVCG's partnership with CarbonFund.org they are able to participate in CarbonFund.org's Earth Day 2010 Plant a Million Trees Challenge and will do so by planting one tree for every LVCG employee. That's 168 trees!

"We are excited to celebrate Earth Day this year by purchasing a tree for each employee.  Including our entire team in this unique Earth Day celebration reinforces the fact that every LVCG team member plays an important role in preserving and replenishing the environment. We're celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd yet it's very important to LVCG that we focus on being environmental stewards every day of the year."
- Heidi Bridges, President

Trees are essential to life on Earth in the following ways:

- Cleaner air
- Protection and expansion of biodiversity
- Reducing flooding by minimizing runoff
- Providing habitats and nutrition for wildlife
- Creating jobs managing tree nurseries

LVCG is proud to be environmental stewards every day of the year; here are a few examples of how they accomplish that:
- All Waste Ink is Recycled
- All printing plates are recycled
- Press solutions are alcohol free
- Waste sheets are reused as make-ready
- Shipping pallets and corrugated material is recycled
- 100% computer to plate (CTP) eliminates the photographic process and its waste stream
- Offer clients FSC and SFI paper resources
