RSA previews new software releases at ON DEMAND

Press release from the issuing company

Philadelphia, PA - Rochester Software Associates, Inc. is exhibiting at ON DEMAND 2010 with an all new version of our flagship WebCRDweb-to-print software, and a new version of QDirect, our workflow management software. ON DEMAND visitors to RSA booth 1442 will see RSA demonstrate how the latest mobile device, the iPad, can be used for QDirect web remote job management, and to submit jobs in WebCRD. The small form factor and mobile-friendly iPad makes it attractive as a portable, light weight addition to print shops, particularly those with devices that don't have robust queuing systems.

Introducing WebCRD V8.0
Developed based on user feedback, WebCRD 8.0 features a new user interface for even faster ordering and order management; tighter integration with internal web site branding; and SurePreview, RSA's proprietary pre-order document viewer for WYSIWYG printing and Instant Estimate for instant interactive quoting on-the-fly without any mouse clicks.

WebCRD's updated user interface provides fast and intuitive ordering workflows, with a new shopping cart ordering experience while still maintaining WebCRD's simple single screen ticketing.

WebCRD now makes it even easier for customers to integrate with internal web site branding and increase user acceptance and adoption by providing "skinning capabilities" and a library of website "skins" to create web-to-print branding and look and feel that match their other web sites, including customizable production tickets and shipping labels.

WebCRD's SurePreview takes the guess work out of web-to-print job submission by displaying a complete on-screen representation of a user's finished product when ordering, allowing confirmation of selected ticketing and finishing options and approving the Instant Estimate- before the order is placed- to ensure that the print job is exactly what is expected prior to ordering. This new feature will increase customer satisfaction and make customers more comfortable ordering higher value jobs from print centers.

QDirect V3.9
Also being demonstrated at the show, RSA's Enterprise Output Manager, QDirect version 3.9 offers increased and print vendor-neutral job management capabilities, an updated web interface, and tighter integration with RSA's WebCRD.

New and enhanced QDirect job management abilities include printer job status, virtual statuses, and color splitting. With the new automated printer job status, QDirect creates one central point where job verification and accounting for multiple printers- from multiple vendors- can take place all the way to the printer. Updates are automatic, and save time by allowing job statuses to be checked in a single location. Virtual statuses track jobs beyond printing through a workflow, from job approvals and other internal processes, to offline finishing and shipping. Also added is cross-print vendor (both print equipment and printer controller) color splitting capability with ticketing and workflows to spilt and re-join color and black and white pages automatically, and customizable business rules for maximum efficiency.

QDirect 's improved web user interface and integration with WebCRD's production module from versions 7.2 and forward allows the viewing and release of all types of jobs from inside WebCRD, including data center and other jobs not typically available in a web-to-print environment, enabling the print center to reduce steps and provide increased flexibility and workflow efficiency.

RSA's workflow solutions are available through RSA's partners and directly from RSA.
