KPG Releases Hifi Color Set For Matchprint Digital Halftone Proofing System

Press release from the issuing company

Norwalk, Connecticut, USA — Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) announced today the commercialization of the HiFi Color Set — CMYKOG for the SWOP certified Matchprint Digital Halftone Proofing System. The new color set enables accurate six-color process proofing, including stochastic print jobs. “In today’s marketplace, the need to innovate and improve print quality is driving the adoption of extended gamut process color printing,” said Rob Pipe, Director, Worldwide Color Proofing Business, KPG. “The HiFi Color Set allows users to deliver the accurate, extended gamut process proofs their customers demand.” The Matchprint Digital Halftone Proofing System, an IR thermal digital halftone system, uses a common RIP to make both plates and proofs, ensuring identical screening on the proof and the plate. The HiFi Color Set — CMYKOG has been developed, tested and approved by KPG for use with both Creo Trendsetter Spectrum and ECRM DesertCat 88 platesetters, giving users better color management without additional investment. The addition of the HiFi Color Set — CMYKOG is the latest in a line of upgrades to the Matchprint Digital Halftone Proofing System. In 2001, third generation Matchprint Digital Halftone materials hit the market with GAMUTec Technology, which includes proprietary media and software technologies as well as exclusive service offerings that provide greater ability to accurately and consistently simulate a unique color target.
