TPMC Purchases Two iGen3 Presses, To Double Volume of Personalized Output

Press release from the issuing company

LENEXA, Kan.--Aug. 20, 2003-- The Personal Marketing Corporation (TPMC), one of the nation's leading providers of personalized marketing materials for real estate professionals, has purchased two Xerox DocuColor iGen3(TM) Digital Production Presses to expand the breadth of full-color, personalized marketing applications for its 75,000 real estate clients nationwide. The firm expects the Xerox production presses to help double its personalized color printing business in about two years. TPMC currently prints 4 million personalized pieces per month. John Wendorff, president and chief executive officer of TPMC, said the DocuColor iGen3 will allow his business to individualize each print product. Using the digital press, the firm will be able to create what Wendorff refers to as "a true print run of one." The print applications -- including postcards, newsletters, magazines and brochures -- will be personalized to a level that includes individual details such as the anniversary date of a client's home purchase, their children's names, photos of local landmarks, and lifestyle preferences. "The DocuColor iGen3 allows us to not only grow our business but also take personalization to the next level, provide full-color printing, and produce more valuable, cost-effective and relevant documents for our clients," said Wendorff. "The DocuColor iGen3 digital press lets us better target our publications and documents to specific audiences, resulting in increased readership and response rates and a stronger real estate agent-client relationship." The 100 page-per-minute DocuColor iGen3 offers capabilities that traditional offset presses don't: It can print content that varies from one page to the next, creating documents that contain text and images specific to the individual recipient. The iGen3 is designed to excel at tasks not possible with traditional offset presses -- such as short runs, quick job turnarounds and personalization -- while providing outstanding print quality. According to Wendorff, TPMC evaluated competitive production presses but liked the print quality and speed of the DocuColor iGen3 and believed it could better handle the rigors of printing round-the-clock. He also cited Xerox's digital printing history and expertise as a benefit. To help TPMC take advantage of the DocuColor iGen3's capabilities, and to assist it in identifying volume-building and revenue-generating opportunities, Xerox deployed a SmartPress Production Consultant to work on-site. According to Wendorff, "The Xerox support was nothing short of fantastic. The quick response to our needs and understanding of our business made a world of difference." The Personal Marketing Company, with 80 employees, provides strategic personal marketing systems to real estate professionals. Their services include design, layout, writing, production and fulfillment of personalized print products. The firm has been a Xerox customer since 1987.
