Press release from the issuing company

Greenbelt, Maryland - GraphTec, a commercial printing company from Jessup, MD, has earned the Grand Q award in the 2010 Excellence in Print competition. The Grand Q is the highest level of achievement for the regional industry contest, which is sponsored by the Printing & Graphics Association MidAtlantic (PGAMA). Winning is a coveted goal for printing firms, and serves as a valuable marketing tool for the victors. The award was presented March 24th during the Excellence in Print Awards Gala at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt, MD.  Other high honors received that evening included best work from a small press (Little q), which went to Printing Specialist Corporation of Glen Burnie, MD; and best work from a digital press (the Digital q), which was given to Baltimore Color Plate of Towson, MD.

GraphTec's winning piece was prepared for Dauses Press using a state-of-the-art Komori Lithrone LS640 offset press. It also won the title of Best of Category in the category of Catalogs, Company Capabilities. A team of independent judges selected the entry as the Best in Show, designated by the Grand Q.

A subsidiary of Consolidated Graphics, GraphTec has a long and successful history in the local printing industry, and has been an active member in PGAMA since 2007. The plant operates twenty-four hours a day, five days per week offering services such as pre-press, binding, digital printing, mailing and fulfillment, and more.

Membership in PGAMA, a non-profit trade organization, is open to printing and graphic communications firms and suppliers located in Maryland, Northern Virginia, D.C., and Southern Pennsylvania.  The Association headquarters is located in Columbia, MD.
