BCC Software to host IM Barcode contest at 2010 National Postal Forum

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, NY - BCC Software, a BÖWE BELL + HOWELL company and a leading developer of high-performance mailing technology solutions, will offer attendees at the 2010 National Postal Forum (NPF) a chance to win a $500 American Express Gift Card during the show, set for April 11-14 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, TN.

NPF attendees who registered for the annual event prior to March 26 will receive a postcard from BCC directing them to bring the card to Booth 132; once there, they may have their card's Intelligent Mail barcode scanned with a Mail Verifier Plus (MVP) unit on display in the booth. If the Serial Number embedded in the IM barcode matches that of a pre-determined winner, the card's recipient will win the $500 American Express Gift Card.

While at Booth 132, attendees will also have the opportunity to see two new MVP enhancements in action. The IMB Details function identifies each of the five distinct barcode components (Barcode ID, Special Services, Mailer ID, Serial Number and ZIP Code) and allows mailers to easily verify that the correct services are attached to the mailpiece. Additionally, the desktop units now have the ability to analyze Intelligent Mail container tags to verify whether those barcodes will pass or fail MERLIN standards before reaching the Post Office.

"We're excited to offer this interactive new way for mailers to learn how BCC's Mail Verifier Plus can improve their IM barcode operations," said BCC Executive Vice President Chris Lien. "We always enjoy showing mailers our new technology at industry shows, and now we can offer them an even greater incentive to see what's next from BCC."
