manroland lecture series celebrates its 10th anniversary

Press release from the issuing company

The manroland lecture series titled "Future Technologies in the Printing and Media Industry" developed into an inspiring platform for the exchange of information between science and industry. The lecture series was initially offered in the 2001 summer semester at the Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien, HdM). Initiator of the HdM lecture series was Professor Bernd-Jürgen Matt. At that time, manroland and the Stuttgart Media University had decided to jointly research which knowledge was necessary for the graphic industry and how it could be conveyed. Only a continuous and reliable partnership with strong industry partners provides important impulses for the studies and also ensures the practical components. Since then, both the university and manroland have enjoyed lasting benefits from the continuing exchange.

The promotion of young people is essential for manroland
The promotion of young people is emphasized at manroland. "Well educated young people are the foundation for the long-term success of our company and the industry," declares Professor Gerd Finkbeiner, CEO of manroland and honorary professor at the Stuttgart Media University, "manroland is proud that we can contribute at the highest level to such a successful exchange of theory and practical knowledge, and that we can make an important contribution to young people's professional qualification."

Further collaboration is planned
In the 2010 summer semester, manroland will once again be a guest at the Stuttgart Media University, this time hosting five events. In the coming semester, speakers representing the printing system manufacturer and its customers will focus on commercial printing in the sheetfed sector and webfed sector.
