Tampa, FL. - Rosetta Technologies, a leading provider of MICR printers and check and Image Replacement Document (IRD) software solutions, has released a major upgrade to their IRDPrint software platform. First unveiled in 2004, IRDPrint has been used to print well over a billion IRDs by scores of financial institutions and item processors.

IRDPrint 3 features full conformity with two new standards implemented by the ASC X9AB Committee, in conjunction with industry leaders and the Federal Reserve. By November 2010, anyone printing IRDs must conform to these new standards.

The first, X9.100-187, affects anyone receiving files from the Federal Reserve. Upon full compliance, users will be required to accept X9.100-187 files. Rejections could result from the inability to process this new file format. IRDPrint 3 still accepts the predecessor file formats - X9.100-180 and X9.37 as well as X9.100-187. In addition, IRDPrint 3 supports the new X9.100-140 standard, which defines the format of the IRD itself. IRDs printed outside of this standard will be non-compliant and could potentially be rejected by some item processors and financial institutions.

IRDPrint 3 also features two new features. The Pre-Sort Module provides the ability to restructure X9 ECL data files into new bundles based on Routing Number (RTN) prior to being transformed into printable PCL IRD files. The Pre-Sort Module can also separate these bundles into individual X9 ECL data files for distribution to member institutions. The second adds file selection functionality which provides the capability to specify that the incoming files be selected based on six possible sort criteria. This can improve throughput for large or high dollar amount X9 ECL data files.

"Because of changes enacted by the ASC X9AB Committee, the standards upgrades were essential in IRDPrint 3," said Jim Maher, vice president and CTO, Rosetta Technologies. For instance, pre-sorting files can greatly decrease manual processes surrounding post-processing and simplify the bundle distribution requirements. Additionally, the ability to sort incoming files based on predefined criteria adds flexibility to any IRD processing environment."
