Zevrix announces Package Central for ID file packaging automation

Press release from the issuing company

Toronto, Canada - Zevrix Solutions today is pleased to announce the release of Package Central 1.0, a new document packaging workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for a major publisher in the United States, the software automates InDesign packaging by processing files from hotfolders. Package Central offloads packaging to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the output process.

Under Package Central workflow, production artists, prepress operators and designers simply submit files to hotfolders that reside on the network. Package Central automatically collects the files from its station using hotfolder settings, and will auto-activate document fonts as well. Operator workstations will never again be tied up by the output process.

Major Package Central features and benefits include:
- Process InDesign files from hotfolders
- Font auto-activation
- Automatic e-mail notifications of process stages and errors
- Update modified links automatically
- Compose variable package folder names
- Detailed processing logs
- Easy to install and operate

Package Central runs on a dedicated machine and watches hotfolders linked to its workflow settings. The software performs all its tasks automatically and can run absolutely unattended. Files can be submitted from both Mac and PC computers.

Pricing and Availability:
Package Central can be purchased for $499.95 (USD) from the Zevrix Solutions website as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. Package Central runs on Mac OS X 10.4.2-10.6, a Universal Binary, and works with Adobe InDesign CS-CS4. Files can be submitted from both Mac and PC computers.
