GWG Chairman to present at Knowledge Centre Seminar Theater at IPEX

Friday, March 19, 2010

Press release from the issuing company

Ghent, Belgium - The Ghent PDF Workgroup (GWG) has been invited to present an educational session at the Knowledge Centre Seminar Theater at IPEX 2010, taking place in May at the NEC in Birmingham, UK. The session, titled, "Is PDF Still Relevant? How and Why?", will be presented by internationally known consultant and GWG Chairman David Zwang on May 19, at 3:30 p.m.

As an international leader in establishing and sharing free process specifications for best practices in graphic arts workflows, the GWG continues to support the efforts of the graphic arts community by participating in this special IPEX 2010 session.

Is PDF Still Relevant? How and Why?
Many will agree that PDF had once seemed to be the ideal format for exchanging and publishing information - and has undoubtedly been a tremendous boon to premedia workflows. In this session, Zwang will discuss its relevance in the new world of information publishing. As new electronic distribution tools continue to debut, many wonder if print is being replaced by these new technologies; such as smartphones, tablets, pads, and more.

Zwang says, "There have been a number of recent changes to PDF and specifically PDF/X. This session will address these changes as well as the question, 'Will this keep PDF a relevant format, and where does it fit in a new world print and crossmedia workflows?'"

Knowledge Centre Seminar Theater sessions including Is PDF Still Relevant? How and Why? are free.
