Xplor announces EDP, M-EDP and EDA class of 2009

Press release from the issuing company

Land O'Lakes, FL- Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association, today announced its EDP (Electronic Document Professional), M-EDP (Master Electronic Document Professionals) and EDA (Electronic Document Associate) class of 2009. A total of 16 recipients were inducted into the program during an award ceremony at Xplor's 30th annual Global Conference and Vendor Forum, March 17-19, 2010 in Tampa Bay, Florida.

"We are excited with the tremendous interest and pursuit of our two new EDP designations, the M-EDP and EDA, both introduced just a few short months ago," said Donald Scrima, EDP commission chairperson. "We are once again honored to announce such an influential group of industry professionals."

The EDP designation has been an industry symbol for professional proficiency, experience and commitment since its inception in 1990. EDP professionals promote and enhance the industry through continuing individual education, knowledge sharing and mentoring of others in the certification process. To date, over 500 EDPs have been certified worldwide, with numbers increasing ever year.

Two new levels of certification were introduced in 2009 to offer an entry level for those individuals starting out in the industry and Master-EDP for current EDP professionals who have demonstrated expertise in specific areas of the electronic document industry. The seven individuals who are part of the inaugural Master EDP class demonstrated expertise within the Electronic Document industry in the area of Print Data Streams, Composition and Document Business Planning. The Electronic Document Associate, targets entry-level individuals who have less than 5 years of industry experience. The program, initiated at the end of 2009, is expected to expand significantly in 2010.
