HP issues call for entries in HP Indigo Digital Printing Contest

Press release from the issuing company

Palo Alto, Calif. – HP today announced that it is accepting entries for its HP Indigo Digital Printing Contest, which showcases the high quality and innovative results customers achieve using HP Indigo digital presses.

Judged by a panel of respected experts, the contest is open to all HP Indigo commercial press users and their customers. The contest will include best-of-category prizes for marketing collateral, photo specialty, direct mail/transpromo, and publications entries, as well as for a "special processes" category highlighting jobs printed with extreme or demanding criteria.

HP is also accepting entries in a new "environmental" category for top-quality work that has an environmental message or is produced on recycled media.

"Our last contest in 2008 received more than 450 entries from 31 countries and included breakthrough examples of the advantages HP Indigo presses have to offer," said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo division, HP. "This year we expect to see even higher quality and a broader range of media types as our most innovative customers push the envelope on what digital presses can produce."

HP will announce up to three winners in each category at a gala awards dinner for customers during May's IPEX trade show in Birmingham, England. In addition, HP will display contest entries at its IPEX stand in hall 12 of the National Exhibition Centre.

"It's a great honor to receive the HP Indigo digital printing award, because it shows the market's recognition and appreciation of our company in the field of digital printing," said Luo Zhaojiang, general manager of China-based Guangzhou BiXin Computer Colour Sorting Co., Ltd. – the top winner in photo printing from the 2008 contest. "In recent years, HP has always been able to provide us with excellent printing quality and world-class service."

The deadline for submitting entries is March 31, 2010. There is no limit to the number of entries HP Indigo press users can submit, and there no submission fee. HP Indigo users can access a link to registration forms and additional contest information through the "My HP Indigo" online customer portal.
