Bihaku Watanabe Japan purchases Gietz press

Press release from the issuing company

The print finisher Bihaku Watanabe Co. Ltd. Tokyo is small in size, with 20 employees but has a big reputation. The family owned company, managed by the second generation, specializes in foil stamping and embossing. Watanabe is well known amongst the printers in the Tokyo region as one of the best print finishers for high-quality foil stamping and embossing.

In order to meet the increasing demands of quality from their customers, Watanabe decided to invest in a Gietz FSA 1060 Foil Commander ECO. Travels to Europe, demonstrations and meetings with technical experts at companies running the Gietz machine led to the decision to buy a Gietz. Watanabe's philosophy is no quality failure can be tolerated nor excused.

The FSA 1060 Foil Commander was Watanabe’s first choice to underline the expansion into a new building. Owing to this new machine, Watanabe receives orders from customers who specifically appreciate the performance of the Gietz press. Besides, more orders are being placed by competing companies who are not able to meet the requirements on competitor's presses (not enough printing pressure, no possibility to combine fine fonts and larger stamping areas etc.)

Based on smaller print runs and necessary cost-saving, Gietz has developed in cooperation with their exclusive distributor in Japan, Iwai Tshusho K.K., the FSA 1060 Foil Commander ECO. Its equipment has been discussed with Watanabe and chosen according to the local needs. The FSA 1060 ECO removes the patented “Vacufoil” foil transportation system and the automatic baling press. Therefore, considerable costs can be saved.  Both of these features can be added on later in the field.

Instead of the “Vacufoil” the Gietz Foil Commander ECO is equipped with conventional foil unwinds with a pneumatic foil tension control system. Under the mentioned job conditions it is not primarily the net output that counts.  At Watanabe, accurate and outstanding stamping quality is highest priority.

The company Watanabe confirms the successful performance and multiple application possibilities of the machine and looks forward to serving further customers with products enhanced on the Gietz FSA 1060 Foil Commander ECO.
