Goss International confirms commitment to Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

Goss International will participate in the 2010 Graph Expo Show in Chicago where the company will emphasize its ownership structure, innovative web press and finishing technology, and expanding product range in North America that now includes Akiyama sheetfed presses.

"The annual show in Chicago should remain an essential forum for suppliers and printers to meet, reaffirm their commitment to the future, and generate enthusiasm for new technologies and new ideas," according to Jacques Navarre, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Goss International. "We participate because we believe the unique show environment delivers value for our customers and for our industry."

Goss International will highlight technologies for commercial, newspaper and combined operations at Graph Expo, along with aftermarket Goss Lifetime Support options designed to extend the competitive lifespan of existing equipment. The show will also be the first major North American event for the company following the ownership investment by Shanghai Electric. The investment by a strong, industrial group with a long-term commitment to the print sector creates opportunities for an expanded product portfolio, such as the integration of the Akiyama products and team, according to Navarre.

Commercial and newspaper sectors covered
Graham Trevett, vice president of commercial web sales for Goss International in North America, says his organization supports the idea of a single North American show covering both the commercial and newspaper sectors. "Production requirements and business models continue to converge, and printers and publishers will appreciate having one event where they can evaluate the full range of technologies and ideas available from suppliers," he adds.

Goss International also represents Ferag products in North America and will present integrated Goss-Ferag finishing solutions for newspaper and commercial production at the show.

Akiyama sheetfed and Goss packaging presses added
Goss International assumed responsibility for sales and support of Akiyama products in the United States and Canada in January, and integrated the Akiyama USA organization. "Our products, particularly the Jprint press, offer a very compelling alternative for high-quality sheetfed perfecting applications," according to Keith Huang, sheetfed operations director. "New and existing Akiyama customers will also benefit from the expanded parts, service and support resources of the Goss International organization."

Goss International has also launched new web offset press models specifically designed for packaging applications, using proven concepts from its Sunday presses. "These variable-repeat presses will deliver unique productivity, efficiency and print quality advantages for flexible packaging, folding carton and label applications," explains Trevett. "We look forward to talking to packaging printers that are interested in exploring new web offset options."
