Pre-Conference/Workshop Training Sessions on InDesign Those interested also have the option of attending hands-on, pre-Conference training sessions on October 28 and 29, to familiarize themselves with the InDesign program and how it compares to other page layout applications. Special Discounts for Printers A special incentive is being offered for printers within the industry. Printers can take advantage of a one-day printer track rate for the first day of the Conference for $99 or attend the entire conference for only $695. Additional printer discounts will be available for members of select industry organizations. More information is available upon registration. Novice, Expert, and Special Printer Tracks Three session tracks will be offered for users of various levels of experience. Track one is geared towards the novice audience looking to learn more about what the InDesign program has to offer. Track two is an expert track, focusing on topics such as integration, color, and higher-end use. Track three is a special program, being held the first day only, which focuses on fulfilling the special needs of printers. This track offers troubleshooting tactics for easier production and is exclusively for printers. Adobe InDesign Conference Speakers Conference speaker and Tech Art founder Diane Burns says, "It's an exciting time in publishing as, for the first time in a decade, InDesign gives publishers and creative professionals a real choice about the tools they use." Well-known speakers and industry visionaries are among the speakers planned for the three-day hands-on event. David Blatner, author and specialized consultant of various InDesign, QuarkXPress, and Photoshop publications, will be leading numerous sessions, including one entitled "Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator-Friends that play well together." Blatner says about this year's conference, "I haven't seen this kind of buzz about a new page-layout program since the early '90s. I think the InDesign Conference is going to be an amazing opportunity for people to get a jump start on what is clearly the future of publishing." Lonn Lorenz, Adobe Print Workflow Initiative manager and Dov Isaacs, principle scientist at Adobe Systems, Inc. will be leading the sessions "Tricks for Better Transparency Printing - That Work!" and "PDF and Print Workflow", respectively. Isaacs comments that the 2003 InDesign Users Conference is an "opportunity to learn from early, successful adopters of and experts in InDesign not only from Adobe, but especially from the real-world." Many other key industry leaders will be present to offer hands-on techniques, troubleshooting, and tips for designing, printing, and PDF for users of every level of experience.
