Orange County Printing Introduces Custom Veritas Imaging Solution

Press release from the issuing company

Irvine, CA September 15, 2003 — Irvine, CA-based Orange County Printing (OCP), a member of the Kelmscott Communications network, recently introduced Veritas Imaging Solution, a suite of integrated digital imaging technologies designed to significantly enhance and streamline front-end processing, proofing, and plating of customer files. According to OCP general manager, Tamim Baiou, the combined technology and customer features of digital workflow system is the first installation of its type in the Southern California region, and is the most advanced technology available to serve today's graphics and marketing customers. Under the name of Veritas Imaging Solution, the open-architecture workflow system is comprised of five technology components: Insite Soft Proofing allows online multi-party review, comment, and change requests of file content. Spectrum Digital Proofing provides high-quality dot laminated color proofs on the actual stock that will be printed. The SQUAREspot imaging technology ensures accurate and consistent imaging on plates and press. Thermal plates are used in the system to maintain digital integrity from customer file to press. And, finally, Staccato FM Screening is used in the system, providing the industry's closest press match to first-generation continuous tone imagery. "We spent over a year evaluating various packaged solutions," says Baiou. "But in the end, we decided to assemble our own customized solution to gain optimum results at every stage of the process. Our customers really don't care how we do it, they just want to be assured they're getting the best possible color and imaging quality that current technologies provide. That was our mandate from the beginning."
