Print UV conference agenda to focus on uv sales growth and best practices

Press release from the issuing company

Las Vegas, NV – Preparations for Print UV 2010 are in high gear as organizers of this year's event put the finishing touches on a dynamic educational and networking program designed to promote the growth of UV printing throughout the graphic arts industry. A sellout is anticipated when the third annual edition of the popular technology conference gets underway at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas March 7-9.

The conference format is geared to the needs of executives, managers and master printers who make daily decisions about implementing the UV process in their organizations. The conference agenda places heavy emphasis on peer-to-peer networking opportunities, UV business topics and UV technical strategies. Vendors attend by invitation only and are limited to 30 percent of attendees to keep the focus on printers and their real-world UV needs.

Delivering the keynote address on Monday morning at 11:30 a.m. will be internationally renowned designer Kit Hinrichs, Principal and Creative Director of Studio Hinrichs in San Francisco, who will discuss how printers can unleash their UV capabilities to capture the design community. Hinrichs is well known throughout the printing industry for his love of what ink and paper can achieve and for his encyclopedic knowledge of printing processes. Hinrichs also will lead a breakout session on Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. to offer tactical advice on how UV printers can best reach the young creatives at today's cutting edge advertising agencies. General Session topics will include "Switching on the Lights – One Year Later," a report by a major commercial printer that made the transition to UV technology just one year ago; "Planning for Success in UV Printing," by a printer who has paid his dues to this fascinating technology-and reaped the rewards; and a "we are here" update by companies in the vanguard of high-power LED UV technology.

Something for Everyone
New this year are multiple breakout sessions offered on Monday and Tuesday afternoons on two tracks: UV Business, targeted to print company managers and executives, and UV Technical, for personnel tasked with mastering the various technical issues specific to UV printing (inks and coatings, substrates, special effects, tips and tricks, etc.) On the UV Business track, sessions include "The Economics of UV Printing," "Retrofit or Buy New?," and "How To Sell UV to the Print Buyer." On the Technical track, attendees may choose among "Game Plan UV – How To Pull It Off Like A Pro," "Dealing with Tricky Substrates," and "Been There, Done That – Battle Scars from a UV Printing Veteran." The conference winds up at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a can't-miss, open-mike, Town Hall session featuring all of the speakers and presenters. In between sessions, attendees are invited to network with a "Who's Who" of the North American printing market in luxurious surroundings at the Wynn Las Vegas.

"The structure and content of this year's conference are the direct result of feedback and suggestions from the previous year's attendees," said Hans Ulland, Vice President Sales and Marketing for Air Motion Systems, a founding sponsor of the Print UV conference. "Everything we've learned confirms that the printing industry is hungry for the benefits UV technology can bring. With the enthusiasm and support of both the printer and supplier communities, we're privileged to be able to bring the fantastic benefits of this exciting technology to the attention of a wider audience for the third year in a row."
