Press release from the issuing company

Marlborough, MA - Bitstream Inc., the leading provider of variable data and Web-to-print software for personalized marketing, announced today  that Waukesha County Technical College has licensed an educational package of Pageflex Persona Cross Media Suite for use in their printing and graphics program. Pageflex Persona Cross Media Suite is a desktop application that enables users to create personalized and customized print and HTML email documents.

The Printing and Graphics program at Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, Wisconsin was created to prepare students for a future working in the digital print production by offering them hands on experience with the latest technology. The curriculum for the program is driven by the latest developments in technology. To support that, the college works with a panel of industry experts who advise the program on how the latest trends and technology are shaping the industry.

An example of this is the Cross-Media class, a two-semester program that gives students extensive experience developing cross media workflows.  In this program, students use Pageflex Persona Cross Media suite to learn about how to incorporate variable data into these cross media campaigns and how to fully utilize HTML for the email elements of these campaigns. In the second semester of the class, students learn about creating and deploying digital storefronts.

Dina Vees, Print Media Instructor Harry V. Quadracci Printing and Graphics Center at Waukesha County talked about the purchase of Pageflex by saying, "Our primary goal at Waukesha County Technical College is to give our students hands on experience with technology so that they are fully prepared when then go out into the profession. Using Pageflex Persona Cross Media Suite, students can create a full range of marketing materials and email campaigns, and can learn first-hand about the power of personalization and variability.  This is the first semester for the program, and we are looking forward to see how students respond to this technology."

In selecting Pageflex for the program, Ms. Vees researched a variety of solutions by attending tradeshows and working at printers and marketing service providers.  Based on her research, she selected Pageflex Persona Cross Media Suite as the best technology for her students.

Anna Magliocco-Chagnon, Bitstream President and CEO said, "Waukesha County Technical College is preparing the next generation of graphic arts professionals to be successful in this changing industry. It is gratifying to see Pageflex used in this innovative program, as it gives students experience with a powerful technology that will help them be successful in the future. We look forward to seeing the impact this next generation of Pageflex Professionals will have on the industry."
