WoodWing and Tansa Systems form technology partnership

Press release from the issuing company

Zaandam, The Netherlands / Oslo, Norway - WoodWing Software, supplier of cross-media publishing solutions, and Tansa Systems, a leading text-proofing company, have announced a technology partnership to ensure compatibility between their systems. The partnership formalizes an ongoing relationship between the two companies and will allow for cross-marketing, joint events and other forms of cooperation.

WoodWing offers a suite of innovative multichannel publishing tools for newspaper, magazine and book publishing as well as for corporate communications. Tansa brings advanced, centralized text proofing to Adobe InDesign, InCopy and Web-based text editors, all key components of WoodWing's Enterprise publishing system. Incorporating Tansa's ability to check for wording and style optimizes the editing process.

"It is our experience that companies still spend too much time on their copy-editing processes," said Morten Krøtø, Managing Director of Tansa Systems, AS. "Tansa helps reduce spelling mistakes, saves copy-editing time and ensures consistency. Our two companies share a strategic vision to simplify and streamline the publishing process. Combining our solutions will be of great benefit to publishers of any type and size."

"We are always looking for technology partners supporting our product philosophy - offering easy-to-use solutions, helping publishers to get more things done in less time, giving them a competitive advantage," said Erik Schut, President of WoodWing Software. "The text-proofing tools offered by Tansa Systems fully match this philosophy, so we are pleased to add Tansa to our rapidly expanding team of technology partners."

Tansa's functionality goes far beyond the feature set and performance of standard spellcheckers. The centrally stored, customized dictionaries can be shared across applications. And because it is Web-based, it can be shared across locations, as well. Tansa's Text-Proofing System can check for word usage, style, punctuation, hyphenation and consistent spelling of names. Several customizable dictionaries can run off a single server, handling multiple languages and different language profiles. Tansa's centralized dictionaries learn from the customer's usage and are updated regularly, ensuring modern and up-to-date dictionaries.
