Printcafe Introduces New PrintSmith Release

Press release from the issuing company

GRAPH EXPO, Chicago, IL - Printcafe Software, Inc, the operating system for print, today announced PrintSmith version 7.0, a major new release which runs natively on Macintosh OSX, Windows and Macintosh Classic. PrintSmith is a comprehensive, flexible and feature rich print management system and is the market leading solution for print and copy shops. Version 7.0 is now entering beta release and is being demonstrated at Graph Expo this week. "PrintSmith has been under continuous development for over 18 years but this is the largest re-engineering effort we've undertaken in a decade," said Mike Miller, President of PrintSmith. "While much of the redesign of the user interface is centered around support for OSX, the end result is a program which we think represents a significant improvement in performance, ease of use and capability." PrintSmith 7.0 includes significant new features and a major redesign of the user interface. Highlights include the ability to open multiple invoices and estimates simultaneously, plus enhanced estimating to allow users to look up a price based on either the quantity ordered, press sheets or press sheets plus bindery waste. Additional features include enhancements to the e-commerce add-on module, PrintSmith Site. PrintSmith Site enables printers to offer online products and services with complete integration into the PrintSmith estimating module for a faster turnaround of jobs and a more streamlined workflow. Included in version 7.0 is support for customer brandable PrintSmith Site catalogs, allowing printers to tailor their websites to meet the needs of their end users.
