3TControl Density Management on the first KBA Commander CT

Press release from the issuing company

In autumn 2009, Heraldo de Aragon signed acceptance of its new KBA Commander CT press in Zaragoza, Spain. The acceptance marks the first production Commander CT to be commissioned anywhere in the World. Heraldo de Aragon Managing Director, Jose Manuel Lozano said, "The Commander CT gives us many advantages based on the compact press design and high level of automation including automatic plate-loading that give us a fast turnaround between print jobs. To commission the first machine of this type took a considerable joint effort from Heraldo de Aragon, KBA and all involved to reach production acceptance".

Jose Manuel Lozano continued by saying, "Since acceptance, we have worked hard to optimise the press operation and have been able to significantly reduce make-ready waste and increase quality through further investments made in automatic press controls. Optimising make-ready and achieving a high quality throughout the print run is central to the contract printing excellence that we are able to offer to the market. We are now very excited about density control technology from 3TControl Precision Systems who have also supplied us with automatic register and cut-off controls" The press is already equipped with inline density measurement and together, 3TControl and KBA are now closing the ink density loop and will be able shortly to automate density management across the web.
