Social media and the multimedia mix tops conversation at Ryerson University

Rockford, IL - Jeffrey Stewart, Chief Technology Officer at Trekk Cross-Media, shared insights on social media and its place in cross-media at Fusion: Exploring the Multimedia Mix, held yesterday in Toronto.

Sponsored by the School of Graphic Communications Management at Ryerson University, the annual colloquium brought together students and print professionals, giving them an opportunity to explore current topics in the printing industry. This year's event was focused on innovative multimedia campaigns and how different media complement each other.

In Stewart's presentation, he explored how social media channels are providing new opportunities to directly influence customer behavior. He also offered examples of how social media can be harnessed and integrated into 'traditional' cross-media campaigns.

Print professionals and students left with a much better understanding of where the future of direct marketing is headed, how the rules are changing and how print media is reinventing its place in the marketing mix.
