manroland names Marty Pierce to head team on PRINTVALUE products and services

manroland, Inc. appointed Marty Pierce to the position of PRINTVALUE Director, Sheetfed for North America. He will be responsible for product development and sales efforts for a line of ancillary products, consumables, upgrades and service offerings for the sheetfed market segment.

manroland introduced PRINTVALUE with four segments of total customer care: printservice, printcom, printnet and printadvice. To provide printers with a full spectrum of resources and support to build profits and expand their business. printcom products from blankets, rollers and consumable supplies enhance the capabilities of any press and they are guaranteed to perform.

Jon Surch, manroland Vice-President of Sheetfed Service Operations looks to Pierce to help grow the program and to be a key interface between printers and our technical teams. "He will take the PRINTVALUE business to a new level with an emphasis on our consultative approach to recommending and implementing solutions."

Pierce brings many years of varied graphic arts experience to this position from the pressroom to the print management level. Starting as a pressman, Marty worked on a variety of presses and was ultimately promoted to plant manager. He was also a co-owner of another print shop as Vice President of Operations. At another press company, he worked initially as a print instructor and later moved to a press sales position. Most recently, he was the District Sales Manager for manroland sheetfed presses in the Central region.

"My focus," says Pierce, "is to maximize output and productivity for sheetfed shops both with manroland presses and other brands using our consumable products and press services." He continued, "It's critical to bring technical groups into the customer solution process. Customers will benefit from additional information and optimal programs, and the technical people will incorporate feedback into new products and services."
