NUR Macroprinters Begins Shipping Tempo Flatbed Wide-Format Inkjet Presses

Press release from the issuing company

LOD, Israel, Sept. 4 -- NUR Macroprinters, a leading supplier of wide-format inkjet production printing systems for the out-of-home advertising market, today announced that it has begun worldwide commercial shipments of the new NUR Tempo flatbed inkjet press. During the past year, the Company previewed its NUR Tempo, a flatbed, wide-format inkjet printer that is designed to produce high quality output on a wide variety of both rigid and flexible materials, at trade events in the U.S. and Europe. It offers a digital alternative to screen printing presses that can handle diverse applications, for short to medium on-demand print runs that are not cost-effective using traditional screen printing methods. It eliminates extra steps and costs of finishing, including laminating and cutting/trimming, that are common to traditional methods of printing graphics on rigid surfaces. Having built a backlog of deposit-secured orders for the new NUR Tempo, shipments have now begun. In North America, the price of the NUR Tempo is approximately US $500,000. An option for roll-fed printing is an additional US $50,000. NUR Spirit U inks, specially developed and optimized for the NUR Tempo, start at US $110 per liter. NUR offers a variety of service plans to meet different customers' needs. To ensure it can fulfill new orders, the Company also expanded its manufacturing capacity for the machines. David Amir, NUR's Chief Executive Officer said, "Today marks the beginning of an exciting new phase for our company, as we enter the flatbed marketplace with a new product designed to meet the needs of screen printers. IT Strategies, a well respected industry research consulting firm, estimates the market potential for flatbed inkjet presses at about 2000 machines in the next four years. Given the high marks in reliability and productivity that the NUR Tempo is receiving from both our development team and the initial worldwide customers who participated in its beta-test program, we look forward to capturing a significant proportion of this market. Indeed, we foresee that the NUR Tempo will assume an increasingly important position in our product portfolio." Mr. Amir continued, "We believe that NUR Tempo is the first flatbed inkjet press to have the right combination of features which realistically address the needs of screen printers. It offers photo-realistic quality, four and eight-color printing, the ability to print on both rigid and roll-fed materials, and a large format that can accommodate a wide variety of applications. We expect this combination of features will allow the NUR Tempo to deliver an unparalleled level of versatility, quality and productivity. We have witnessed the great anticipation in the marketplace that these advantages have created, even though it is not the first flatbed inkjet press available." The NUR Tempo uses UV-curable inks that give it the flexibility to print on a wide variety of substrates. These include corrugated board, foam-core paperboard, acrylic sheets, PVC, polycarbonate, fluted polypropylene, glass, wood and standard rolled media. It also features a large format table (10 ft. x 6 ft. / 3.2m x 2m) to accommodate a wide variety of applications and job formats. It can handle both rigid and rolled substrates with fast and easy changeover between the two for ultimate flexibility and its high quality four and eight-color printing modes deliver an excellent combination of high speed and photo-realistic image quality with easy, automated changeover between modes. The machine's fully encapsulated construction ensures a comfortable working environment.
