CIP4 Unveils New JDF Logo, Speakers Bureau

Press release from the issuing company

San Francisco, California (September 4, 2003) – The International Cooperation for the Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press, and Postpress (CIP4) today unveiled their new JDF logo, a new identifier for progress in the development of Job Definition Format (JDF) and announced their launch of a new CIP4 Speaker’s Bureau. The logo serves as a symbol of a new wave of technology that is gaining momentum in the industry. JDF is an automated workflow technology that can be linked to all types of production systems to improve efficiency throughout the entire production chain from page creation through post-press. CIP4 members, both system vendors and end users alike, will use the JDF logo to promote the support of JDF integration in new product development. “The number of JDF-enabled products has increased dramatically this past year,” says CIP4’s CEO Martin Bailey. “The new JDF logo is designed to help identify those companies that promote its adoption. Its high visibility at this fall’s industry conferences, including Seybold San Francisco and Graph Expo, will be a testimonial to the rate of JDF acceptance.” Attendees at the upcoming Seybold and Graph Expo shows will soon be familiar with the "JDF Now" variation of the logo, that will be sported in pins and brochures as part of a new JDF awareness program. . This logo is designed for use by CIP4 members to promote the adoption of JDF. The logo and guidelines for usage are available to CIP4 members for download from the Document Archive area of the Members Only website. Executive director, Jim Harvey continues, “We are also pleased to announce the launch of the CIP4 Speakers Bureau, which was developed in response to a growing number of requests for programs about JDF. Conference and meeting planners can visit the CIP4 website, http://www.cip4.org and click on Speaker’s Bureau for a list of speakers capable of speaking informatively on a variety of JDF topics including JDF potential, product support, and system implementations.” CIP4 members who would like to be considered for inclusion in the CIP4 Speaker’s Bureau can register at: http://www.cip4.org/intern/speakers_bureau.php
