Standard announces new product installations

Press release from the issuing company

Andover, MA – Standard Finishing Systems announces the following new product installations:

AccuLink of Greenville, NC has expanded their short-run bindery services with the addition of a Standard Horizon BQ-270 automated perfect binder and Standard Horizon HT-30 automated three-side trimmer.  "These investments give us the tools we need to keep book jobs in-house and attract important new business" said AccuLink Partner Tom O'Brien.  "We lined-up the competition and Standard Horizon won hands-down. We now have the right technology in place for profitable short-run production."  The Standard Horizon BQ-270 features touchscreen control and a digital caliper that measures and conveys the book block thickness data to the binder for fully automated set-up.  O'Brien also claims the HT-30 trimmer has made a greater impact than expected because it runs unattended other than load/unload: "It's like getting work done with almost no labor." The sale was completed by Standard dealer Freeman Graphic Systems Inc. of Greenville, NC. AccuLlink has been serving trade customers in all fifty states since 1980 with quality, affordable offset printing, digital printing, web-to-print, finishing and lettershop services.

Hamilton Printing Company in Castleton-on-Hudson, New York has added Digital Book Manufacturing to their services with the addition of a new Standard Horizon BQ-470PUR automated four-clamp perfect binder and HT-70 in-line three-knife trimmer. Hamilton also added a Xerox Nuvera 288 digital printer recently, which rounds-out their short-run book production when paired with their existing Xerox iGen3 four-color digital press. "The automation, ease-of-use and book quality from the Horizon BQ-470 impressed us, and references told us the system was rock solid" said Rick Dunn, Vice President of Manufacturing. "We're well-known as a quality heat-set web shop that offers a broad range of bindery services, but adding short-run digital one- and four-color books diversifies our offerings and helps us enter new markets."  The sale was completed by Standard dealer Graphic Service & Equipment of Ballston Spa, NY. Hamilton is family-owned and has been serving publishers and universities on the east-coast for over 98 years.
