JJ Bender, LLC, a leading provider of digital presses and high volume printing equipment, recently made donations to the Connecticut Food Bank and Heifer International. Choosing to make a charitable donation in place of sending out gifts, JJ Bender has also encouraged their vendors to do the same.
 
"Last year we sent out a letter to our main vendors asking them to please make a donation to the Connecticut food bank rather than send us a gift, and we were pleased that it had such a positive response. This year we've decided to reciprocate by making a sizable donation to two organizations that we feel do great work," says JJ Bender President, Jeffrey Bender.
 
JJ Bender hopes this donation will also bring more awareness to non-profits such as Heifer International, which Forbes Magazine included in their Gold-Star List of 10 charities worthy of your attention. Heifer International is also a winner of the coveted Hilton Humanitarian award.
 
"We really hope that instead of sending out gifts, more companies will choose to donate to a credible non-profit this holiday season. It's been a rough year for the economy, so it's nice to feel like you can have an impact by simply sending out or receiving one less gift basket," says Jeffrey Bender.
