DirectMail.com acquires Maryland-based Eagle Direct

Press release from the issuing company

Prince Frederick, Md. - DirectMail.com, a leading provider of integrated direct marketing solutions, announced today the acquisition of Eagle Direct, LLC, an Upper Marlboro, Md. direct mail shop specializing in personalized, multi-insert pieces. With the acquisition, privately held DirectMail.com will add key Eagle Direct staff members, including owner Deborah Albro, to its team. Select customer accounts as well as the physical plant and equipment also will transfer to DirectMail.com. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Founded in 1983 as Eagle Data, the firm built its reputation in data processing before transitioning into mail shop services. Under the Eagle Direct name, the company became known for its high-quality work in a unique direct mail niche, offering the capability to handle packages with up to 18 inserts. Notably, DirectMail.com outsourced to Eagle Direct over the years whenever it needed added capacity to manage production overflows.

Deborah Albro will assume the title of Vice President, Customer Service & Operations, where she will bring over 25 years' industry experience, including specialized expertise in production workflow scheduling and customer service, to the DirectMail.com executive team. In commenting on the move, Albro says, "I am excited to join DirectMail.com, a family-owned business that shares the same values of honesty and integrity as Eagle Direct. Our history of working together makes this a natural transition. Hopefully, my presence will help DirectMail.com achieve its strategic growth objectives and ensure continuity of service for Eagle Direct's loyal customer base."

DirectMail.com Vice President Shawn Salta says, "We are thrilled to add Deborah to our management team. Her vast industry experience meshes well with DirectMail.com's strategic growth objectives for the next 18 months. The acquisition will increase our capacity by over 500,000 pieces per day and give us added capability in producing multi-insert packages. Her presence will assure that, as our company moves to the next level, current and future customers will continue to receive the same level of customer service and satisfaction that is synonymous with the DirectMail.com name."

Salta continues, "Our business plan's focus on aggressive short-term growth creates a concurrent need to expand Sales Division staffing to utilize the increased capacity made possible by the Eagle Direct acquisition and other strategic moves. Our first addition is Sales Executive Dustina Bittner, who brings to the team a rare perspective, having worked in virtually every capacity within the direct mail industry throughout her distinguished 15-year career. She began in customer service for a production company, moved into an account executive role, worked as a program manager on the client side and then assumed a sales position. We are thrilled to welcome a person of Dustina's caliber, knowing that she possesses the same forward-looking vision and quest for innovation as we do."

Dustina Bittner comments, "Many firms today claim to be full service, offering complete, in-house direct mail solutions. Most, however, outsource 50% or more of key functions to business partners. DirectMail.com is truly unique in the industry, delivering high-quality, turnkey marketing solutions relying exclusively on in-house staff and equipment. I am impressed by the collective expertise of the staff, with literally hundreds of years of experience. They know the industry and the players, and they truly understand customers' goals and how best to achieve them. DirectMail.com literally can offer a solution for every marketing challenge, a capability that will make my sales role most exciting."
