Baldwin Secures $1.2M order for newspaper press equipment

Press release from the issuing company

Shelton, Conn. - Baldwin Technology Company, Inc. , a leader in process automation technology for the global printing industry, announced today that it has received an order from Chunichi Shimbun for high speed spray dampening equipment valued at $1.2 million. The new Baldwin systems will replace the existing dampening equipment currently in operation at the Kinjo factory, one of eight printing plants owned by Chunichi Shimbun. Installation is planned for July and December 2010.

Chunichi Shimbun, headquartered in Nagoya, Japan, is a major publisher and printer of newspapers in Japan, producing seven titles with a combined daily circulation of 4.28 million copies.

Dr. Ichiei Imafuku, President of Baldwin Japan, commented, "The significant benefits that arise from incorporating effective spray dampening technology are being increasingly recognized by newspapers and web offset printers around the world. The improvements in print quality and productivity, combined with reductions in paper waste and press down time, often result in a very short return of investment."
