Miller Zell Installs 6-Color Thieme Press

Press release from the issuing company

Atlanta, GA -- Miller Zell expanded capabilities this year by installing Thieme’s 5080XL 6 Color In-Line screen printing press.  While known for designing and implementing world class selling environments, many of Miller Zell’s long-standing clients began their relationship with the company’s graphics division.

Printing on a variety of substrates at sizes up to 60” x 120” and at speeds up to 550 sheets per hour, the Thieme 5080 XL is an acquisition designed to further enhance Miller Zell’s graphic production operation while reducing costs to clients.

“There is an increasing demand for printing on a variety of substrates. Thieme’s color in-line press gives us the flexibility to meet those demands and reduce the costs associated with smaller runs by keeping more print jobs in-house,” said Ford Bowers, General Manager of Miller Zell’s print division.

“We are committed to investing through good economies and bad as well as keeping up with the needs of clients who are changing the way they purchase graphics.  Most operations don’t want to inventory large quantities of signage.  Everyone is obviously scaling back.  This acquisition enables us to maintain our standard of continuous performance improvement and manage smaller runs for clients who need them.”

The new press was installed in November and has already increased production speeds in line with expectations.
In addition, Miller Zell acquired a Luescher Direct-to-Screen DX Laser DTS Imaging System as well as an EFI VuTek Digital press as part of this recent expansion.
