Publishers Press releases new viewer for e-PubXpress

Press release from the issuing company

Shepherdsville, KY - Publishers Press, a publication printer and content distribution provider, announces the release of its new digital magazine viewer.

Many publishers are now designing their digital magazines specifically for online viewing, which was something Publishers Press kept in mind when they began this project earlier in the year. "We basically wanted to bring the viewer more in line with what we were seeing in the marketplace today," explains Scott Capito, e-Opportunities system analyst at Publishers Press. "Our customers have also been requesting specific features like more zooming options and single-page viewing, so we made some modifications in order to provide those features."

The new viewer allows clients more flexibility in the design of their digital magazine site and improves the quality of viewing for readers. "Clients now have a competitive product to work with," says Capito. "At the same time, their readers experience a much more feature-rich viewer with improved speed."

Publishers Press improved the delivery speed by using a Content Delivery Network (CDN), which delivers content via the shortest, most direct route possible between the content and the end user. Pages within the new viewer-as well as any rich media-are placed on the CDN, which means quick page loads for the reader.

Publishers Press partnered with Omniture to manage all analytics and reporting for its digital magazine editions, which gives clients access to more than 30 unique reports with approximately 100 variations.

According to Capito: "The digital magazine is still evolving, who knows what it will look like tomorrow. I think the magazine format itself will be very viable in the future as it has a beginning and end. The way the publisher adapts their content and how they utilize the media in which it's being displayed are factors that will determine the digital magazine's success."
