Zevrix updates PDF Checkpoint for Snow Leopard

Press release from the issuing company

Toronto (ON), Canada - Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of PDF Checkpoint 1.1.3, an update to its new PDF workflow automation solution which combines both power and simplicity. Remarkably fast, PDF Checkpoint preflights, exports as images, splits and reduces size of multiple PDF files, and allows to route files according to preflight results.

PDF Checkpoint is not a replacement for hi-end PDF manipulation tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro and similar products. PDF Checkpoint is for users who need a fast, affordable and efficient solution for automated PDF checkup and conversion in situations where hi-end tools would be an overkill. Ad agencies, printers and publishers adopt PDF Checkpoint as a lightweight alternative to costly and complex hi-end solutions to take advantage of its speed and simplicity.

PDF Checkpoint lets users preflight batches of PDF files with a simple drag-and-drop, while showing all PDF fonts, colors, images and metadata in its cleverly designed multi-pane window. The program's powerful preflight profiles let users check PDF for specific attributes, such as image resolution, color model, PDF/X compliance and more. PDF Checkpoint can also automatically route PDF into success/error folders according to preflight results and generate preflight report for each file.

PDF Checkpoint features powerful conversion actions which allow users to perform complex operations on multiple PDF files with just a click of a button. For example, the program can convert a folder of PDF files to CMYK TIFF images with LZW compression at resolution 300 dpi while scaling each page by 50%. Or to reduce PDF file size by downsampling images to 72 dpi while performing this operation on files that passed preflight checks successfully only.

The new version addresses a file routing related issue and introduces compatibility with Mac OS X Snow Leopard. PDF Checkpoint is a new addition to the Zevrix family of quality control products, which already includes InPreflight for Adobe InDesign, and Graphic Inspector for raster and vector graphic files.

Pricing and Availability:
PDF Checkpoint 1.1.3 can be purchased from the Zevrix Solutions web site for $119.95 (USD), as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. PDF Checkpoint is available for Mac OS X 10.4.2-10.6 as a Universal Binary.
