Accurate Impressions improves profitability with Presstek

Press release from the issuing company

Hudson, NH – Presstek, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of digital offset printing solutions, today announced that Accurate Impressions, located in Toronto, has acquired a Presstek 34DI digital offset press to better accommodate longer runs of high-quality four-color printing.  The company was established in 1983 and currently has nine employees.

"We founded our company as a distributor of door-to-door advertising materials," said Richard Bergeron, President of Accurate Impressions. "By 1988, we realized we could print many of the materials we distributed ourselves, adding a new revenue stream, and our printing business has continued to grow.  We acquired the Presstek 34DI press to supplement our one- and two-color offset and toner-based printing capability, bringing 80% of work we formerly outsourced in-house, as well as opening up new opportunities for serving the trade.  Within the first few months the press was busy a full shift almost every day."

Accurate Impressions adds the Presstek DI press to its production portfolio of toner-based devices from Xerox and Konica Minolta and its small conventional presses.  "Any job of 1,000 impressions or more automatically goes on the DI press," Bergeron adds, "although we frequently use it for shorter runs when the client requires the highest quality."

Bergeron also frequently employs the Presstek DI press and his toner-based devices in a hybrid manufacturing model.  "We will print 40,000 offset shells for a client using the DI press, for example, and then imprint variable information with the Konica Minolta when the client needs a couple thousand business cards or postcards.  This provides them with the highest quality and the most reasonable cost."

Bergeron also appreciates both the small environmental footprint and fast turnaround time of the DI press, reporting that his ability to produce environmentally sustainable printing is important to many of his clients.

"Accurate Impressions has a very creative business model," said Todd Phillips, Regional Sales Manager for Presstek.  "By adding the Presstek 34DI digital press, the company has not only expanded that business model but is well positioned to continue its growth into the future. We are pleased to be a partner in their success."
