Major art auction by the International Senefelder Foundation

Press release from the issuing company

Last Saturday, the International Senefelder Foundation organized a large art auction. A total of 100 lithographs of the International Senefelder Award 2008 were auctioned off, generating a total of more than Euro 4,000.

The net profit of the event will benefit the two charitable organizations of Offenbach, Germany. As specified in the modalities of the competition for the International Senefelder Award 2008, the non-winning entries of the award were auctioned off for charity. The first 30 lithographs were selected by the jury of the Senefelder Award 2008 and directly offered by the auctioneer. A further 70 works were exhibited and could be purchased before or after the actual auction. In addition, the famous lithographer Manfred Hügelow printed works by artist Gabriele Gröninger on a historic lithographic press. Furthermore, visitors were able to experience live demonstrations of today's modern printing presses.
