Plustek introduces ideal tools at ARMA International

Press release from the issuing company

ORLANDO, ARMA International Conference & Expo [Booth #433] – Plustek Technology Inc., a manufacturer of consumer, prosumer, professional and office imaging devices (including portable scanners, sheet fed/flat bed scanners, wide format scanners and IP cameras), will be showing off several new models at the ARMA International Conference & Expo at the Orlando World Center Marriott (Booth 433), October 15th-18th, 2009. Plustek will be demonstrating their new scanners which have been designed to meet the needs of companies looking to take active control of their electronic information. As part of their participation, Plustek has donated the OpticFilm 7500i AI Scanner (valued at $589) for the ARMA International Educational Foundation (AIEF) 2009 Silent Auction to raise much needed funding for valuable RIM research and education scholarships.

Plustek's wide range of scanners allows one to capture data anytime, anywhere and in whatever form. From paper documents to hard plastic cards, Plustek has it covered.  Designed to be easy-to-use and offer fast setup and deployment with strong cost-performance, Plustek scanners allow companies to streamline their work processes and increase productivity. In addition, these scanners aim to reduce business costs, improve workflow and even reduce paper waste. All Plustek scanners are ideal solutions for busy front desk areas such as hospitals, clinical administration, hotel reception desks, banks, post offices, police departments, rental car agencies as well as departmental document scanning tasks.

Plustek will be conducting hands-on demos at their booth on their full line of award winning portable, mobile, and workgroup scanners.

Plustek will be highlighting their extensive line of document and hard card scanners including the OptiCard 821, MobileOffice D600, Mobile Office D28, SmartOffice PS282. Each of these scanners has the ability to scan any paper or plastic hard card up to 1.2mm thick, including ID cards, insurance cards, drivers' licenses, and plastic cards with embossed characters. The scanners also include software to create searchable PDF files, allowing users to quickly search documents for occurrences of a specific word or phrase (the D28 scanner is the only exception, which scans to "image" PDF format). The scanners all use an USB interface and are extremely easy to set up and use.

The SmartOffice PS282 is now VRS Ready.  VRS reduces the time involved in manual document preparation and enhances the quality of scanned images.

Plustek will also be exhibiting the OpticSlim M12 Plus. The OpticSlim M12 Plus was created for the busy executive who works "on the go."  The unit is light-weight, slim and compact, and can easily fit in a briefcase or alongside a laptop.  Capable of scanning A4/legal-sized documents using a USB interface for power and communication with the computer, the OpticSlim M12 Plus could be the most usable piece of mobile equipment since the cell phone.  The unit also comes bundled with scanning and organizing software which makes organizing receipts, documents, photos, articles and business cards a snap

The scanners are available now and priced affordably at MSRP USD $169 (OptiCard 821), $299 (MobileOffice D600), $349 (MobileOffice D28), $399 (SmartOffice PS282) and $179 (OpticSlim M12 Plus), making Plustek the best choice for any business.

The ARMA International Conference & Expo will be held October 15-18, 2009 in Orlando, Florida at the Orlando World Center Marriott.  Members of the press interested in a briefing at the Plustek booth (#433) should contact Mark Druziak at 562-650-3900.
