Tensor Group to discuss narrow web advantages at IFRA Expo 2009

Press release from the issuing company

WOODRIDGE, IL - Tensor Group, Inc. invites semi-commercial and newspaper printers and publishers to visit Tensor's IFRA EXPO stand B722 to learn how single-wide Tensor press equipment can positively impact production capabilities and help create lucrative contract opportunities, with fast ROI.

Martina Hozjan Ruda, Tensor's executive vice president, remarked, "Tensor offers an excellent range of narrow-width options for newspaper printers considering expansion into the semi-commercial arena. IFRA EXPO gives us a nice opportunity to share our customer success stories and discuss how Tensor can positively affect companies that are ready to progress in new directions."

Tensor's press unit product line includes the perfect variety of uniquely engineered and expertly crafted iron - with speeds of 35,000 to 60,000 iph. Tensor offers a wide range of standard and custom cutoffs and web widths to meet unusual and specific requirements, beneficial for add-on or full pressline investments.

The Tensor semi-commercial, high speed 3 form roller press models, the T-500 and the T-460, share similar characteristics such as twelve roller ink trains, full bearer design and the expected traditional Tensor bearing-in-a-bearing technology for full cylinder support. These press units are built with massive cast iron frames that reduce vibration and provide stability with the added benefit of lasting durability.

There are marked differences between the T-460 and the T-500 also, purposely designed to meet two different market preferences and price points. Tensor offers the T-500 design with an enhanced independent couple shaftless drive system with servo motors, with speeds to 60,000 iph. The couple shaftless configuration enables unit-to-unit register controls on both the 10- and 13-side. Optional plate cocking for swift makeready is available only with the T-500. The T-460 fills the market niche that does not require such high speed, but demands high ink coverage and fast makeready capabilities for high quality semi-commercial print. The T-460 is equipped with a footprint shaftless AC vector drive system (with optional unit-shaftless drive), and has a rated speed of 46,000 iph. Chilled ink vibrators, segmented ink fountain blades and oil coolers for sustained high-speed applications are standard on the T-500, optional on the T-460.

Tensor's best-sellers remain the T-400BE and the T-1400 units, which serve the shorter run newspaper /semi commercial markets requiring fast makeready and quality production, with speeds between 35,000 and 45,000 iph.

All Tensor press packages can be configured with UV curing or traditional heatset drying systems. Units can be equipped with spray dampening, automatic closed loop register and cutoff control, remote inking and ink leveler systems. Complete turnkey packages, including all auxiliary equipment and DCOS drive controls are expertly packaged and managed through Tensor.
