Agfa Graphics Brings Three Innovations to Graphics of the Americas, Xplor Global Conference

Miami Beach, FL (GOA) — March 2, 2007 (Booth #708) — Agfa Graphics announced today that three of its newest high-production, cost-effective prepress and printing products are being shown here at the Graphics of the Americas exposition (GOA), March 2-4 in the Miami Beach Convention Center. The :Anapurna XL inkjet engine, :Dotrix Transcolor printer, and :Acento LF platemaker will be demonstrated at the Agfa Graphics booth to show how Agfa continues its leadership role in graphic communications technology. The GOA exposition is run in combination with the Xplor Global Conference. “This is an exciting place to share our technological leadership, with more than 23,000 graphic arts and printing professionals expected to attend. The latest in digital and traditional print technology is presented here each year, and Agfa Graphics is always ready to help the market stay competitive and dedicated to only the highest quality,” said Marc Op de Beeck, Agfa Graphics vice-president of global sales. The :Anapurna XL is a wide format industrial inkjet printer particularly well suited for indoor and outdoor sign and display printing. With a print resolution of 363 x 725 dpi, it can print up to 250 cm wide on a wide variety of media, including roll materials such as film, self-adhesive vinyl and canvas, and rigid materials such as corrugated board, screenprints and exhibition panels. The :Anapurna XL is designed to cope with heavy workloads, has proven to save time and material, enhances job opportunities and increases productivity. The :Dotrix Transcolor is a high-speed, full-color, transaction data printer designed for printers who take on complex, variable-data printing projects for a variety of specialized markets. With the ability to produce documents at a record-breaking speed of nearly 30,000 pages per hour, the :Dotrix Transcolor provides the lowest cost-per-copy and the highest return-on-investment of any printer in its category. It also integrates seamlessly into IPDS (intelligent print data stream), further simplifying complex workflows. The :Dotrix Transcolor is not currently sold in the Latin American market. The :Acento LF, a thermal CtP system designed for offset printers looking to convert to digital platemaking, brings the full benefits of the technology at an entry-level cost. It utilizes a new imaging head with an 84-channel laser diode, and features dependable throughput due to its simplified mechanical design. The :Acento LF offers imaging speeds of up to 11 plates per hour (450x370 mm to 1060x820 mm). It features semi-automatic plate loading and manual unloading, further saving costs and reducing floor space requirements. :Acento LF targets high-growth CtP markets such as South America. GOA is the largest annual graphic arts show for the Latin American market.
