New manroland White Paper added to online series

Press release from the issuing company

Another timely, informative and highly practical installment in manroland's series of White Papers is now available at the company's web site by clicking on Newsroom.  "Finding New and Better Ways to Make Quality Pay" draws on the combined expertise of several manroland print industry veterans and covers a wide spectrum of options and opportunities.

"Solving print quality problems rank high in priority order to move jobs out the door profitably," said manroland, Inc. CEO Vince Lapinski.  "Proactive steps that make the most of advanced technologies and services available today can accomplish a dual goal of improving print-production quality while also adding real numbers to the bottom line.  It's this kind of 'quality' that our new White Paper addresses, the kind that every print operation needs and will benefit from."

The White Paper provides an overview of variables that contribute to quality, as well as key quality standards and methods.  It also analyzes the print production process and focuses on the press itself in relation to other operations.

Among the primary issues addressed are Registration, Color Consistency/Color Control, and Defect Detection and Correction.  Noting that "it all comes together on the press," the White Paper highlights numerous end-to-end press features relating to these and other issues.  It points out differences among technologies, how and why some can improve output quality while eliminating waste, and saving time and labor more effectively and/or efficiently than others.  Frequent, documented figures are included.

Featured systems and technologies are current within the industry.  Some readers with older machines could come away with a checklist of key things to look for in their next new press.  Most of the latest advanced-technology items mentioned in the White Paper can be retrofitted to existing machines.  Many of the ideas in this publication require no new equipment whatsoever; they involve ways of working which impact quality and overall operational efficiency.

Led by manroland, Inc. Director of Quality Control Roland Warmuth, contributing authors to "Finding New and Better Ways to Make Quality Pay" include Franz     Mieschke, Director OEM Sheetfed and Development; Patrick McManus, Project Management; and Project Manager Sheetfed, John Zenner.

"Like many people within our organization, each of these specialists add unique perspectives, insights and experience," Lapinski said.  "The result of our experts' collaboration in this White Paper - which is the goal in our entire series - is that even the best print operations will find food for thought, along with actionable ideas that can improve their bottom line."

Other current White Papers in the manroland series explore the ROI of Press Life Cycle Management (by Jon Surch, manroland's VP of Sheetfed printservices), the value of Project Management that goes beyond accepted norms (by Kai Schuler, Director of Web Project Management), and "the Added Value of Large Format Sheetfed Production," by VP Sales – Eastern US and Canada, Michael Mugavero.
