RSA promotes push-button personalization at Print 09!

Press release from the issuing company

Printers everywhere are looking to add value and a great way to do that is through Variable Data Printing.  Rochester Software Associates, Inc. demonstrated a powerful example of this at Print 09 in Chicago.  RSA calls this Push-Button Personalization.

Users simply walked up to an RSA kiosk and had their badge scanned.  The 2D barcode imprinted on every attendee's badge contained their name, title, address, phone, email and more.  These codes are typically read by Lead Retrieval Units for follow-up after the show.

What RSA did differently is instead of using a Lead Retrieval Unit, they scanned that data directly into WebCRD, RSA's enterprise Web-to-Print solution, using a 2D barcode scanner.  WebCRD Dynamics, RSA's variable data engine, extracted the data from the barcode and created a personalized "RSA Today" newsletter, in real-time!  Unlike competing Web-to-Print solutions, with WebCRD Dynamics, no operator is required to merge the variable data with a template.  The job was then printed on the show floor, in seconds!  The attendee was able to walk away with their very own custom piece of collateral!  Considering that most tradeshow literature gets dumped at the nearest recycling bin, this custom document stands a greater chance of being read and retained.

"Our customers have found that personalization and print-on-demand can help the enterprise in several ways," observed Tim Kelly, Sr. Vice President at RSA.  "Obviously, there are tremendous savings in moving from print-to-inventory to a just-in-time model.  We have clients that report saving up to one million dollars a year because they don't have to recycle documents that become obsolete due to changing regulations.  Another benefit is that personalized documents are more effective at capturing attention.  And finally, it's a great 'green' message to print only what you need and make sure those printed pieces have a higher value."

Everyone agrees that personalization is the way to higher value documents, and more profitable print centers.  RSA's Push-button Personalization demonstrates that such personalization can be achieved quickly and easily.

RSA's workflow solutions are available through RSA's partners and directly from RSA.  For more information, visit www.rocsoft.com and view a Flash demo of the new WebCRD Document Preview at www.rocsoft.com/preview!
