Metrix Server 1.0 Wins Print09 Must See 'ems Award

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago, Illinois – LithoTechnics Inc., developer of Metrix, the intelligent, automated job planning and imposition system, announced today that Metrix Server 1.0 has been awarded the prestigious Must See 'ems Award, one of only four products so recognized in the Software category, at the Print09 show, recently held in Chicago.

Winners were selected "...from the more than 4,000 individual products being shown at PRINT 09 by almost 650 exhibitors spread out over 600,000 square feet of McCormick Place exhibit space. Products were nominated in a reiterative process from supplier information including pre-show briefings and input from an independent Selection Committee. Nominees were reviewed and voted on by a 21 person committee in a secret ballot that required more than majority agreement that a product was compelling for a large number of exhibition attendees to achieve Must See 'ems recognition."

Rohan Holt, President of LithoTechnics, said: "We believe Metrix Server 1.0 will break new ground in print production automation, and we are gratified that the Must See 'ems selection committee agrees." Holt continued, "We've been working steadily towards the goal of 'lights out' production planning and imposition since we first launched Metrix in 2004. Metrix Server brings us closer than ever to that goal, since it prepares production-ready data directly from MIS data and passes it to the prepress workflow system. Repetitive tasks are eliminated, operator-induced errors are eradicated, and human intervention is only necessary for the exceptions. This is a really exciting project for us, and moves us closer to our vision of the production planning department of the 21st century!"

The Metrix family includes Metrix Commercial, Metrix Max, Metrix X-8 and Metrix X-80, targeted at different segments of the commercial print market. The product line also includes Metrix Server, which fully automates planning, imposition, and finishing machine setup without any human intervention. All products are available on Mac OS X and Windows, and all plan and impose flat, folded, and bound work. Select Metrix editions can import JDF and export imposed PDF, and various forms of JDF for prepress and finishing. The Metrix family is available in English, German, Spanish, French, and Simplified Chinese.
