Fiery Controllers Power Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE Line-Up

Press release from the issuing company

Las Vegas -- EFI, a world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today announced that the latest Fiery controllers are driving the newest line-up of imageRUNNER ADVANCE systems from Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging and advanced office solutions, bringing the fastest delivery and most consistent, vibrant color printing and publishing to users ranging from office workgroups to production printers. This powerful combination is on display at the Canon Integrated Solutions Showcase (CISS) event this week, along with a preview of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE portfolio integrated to EFI's MicroPress and Fiery Central production workflow solutions that automate workflows and dramatically reduce job set-up for lightning fast turn-around times.

The Fiery controllers are powered by the award-winning Command WorkStation 5 job management software that has intuitive and fully automated workflows to improve productivity and enable users to increase profits by easily producing complex jobs, such as more lucrative Variable Data Printing (VDP) projects, while ensuring accurate and consistent color output every time. Ideal for a variety of users ranging from office workers to professional printing establishments, the stand-alone Fiery Canon ColorPASS-GX300 is available for the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5051 and the other new Canon models, and the embedded Canon imagePASS-A1 drives the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9075 PRO, the C9065 PRO, C7065 and C7055. The embedded Canon imagePASS-B1 supports the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5051, C5045, C5035 and C5030 targeted at office workgroups.

"EFI Fiery controllers have a winning history of successfully driving Canon imageRUNNER systems, and now the latest application of Fiery technology is paired with the newest output devices to bring a higher level of color quality, automation and productivity to a wide range of Canon customers," said John Henze, vice president of marketing, Fiery division, EFI. "With integration to our print management solutions and the EFI Digital StoreFront web-to-print platform, and the forthcoming integration of MicroPress and Fiery Central, more customers will realize the tremendous value of EFI's robust portfolio of products specifically designed to drive increased competitiveness, efficiency and profitability."

"As our customers continue to look for creative ways to be productive and profitable during these difficult times, the Fiery-driven imageRUNNER ADVANCE line-up offers a smart, flexible choice for office workgroups, CRDs, print for pay and digital print service providers," said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "The intuitive and user-friendly tools that are the hallmark of Fiery controllers allow customers to achieve professional color while optional tools enable even greater control and productivity improvements."

Other Canon printers support EFI's production workflow offerings, including the award-winning Digital StoreFront, and EFI is showing for the first time the imageRUNNER ADVANCE portfolio with connectivity to MicroPress and Fiery Central solutions.

EFI MicroPress is a RIP and production workflow offering that drives print operations. It excels in providing a high-performance, feature-rich, document solution for the control of many pre-press processes in mid- to high-volume digital print environments. MicroPress users will witness increases in efficiency and reduction of costs through streamlined and automated workflows, allowing for even more productivity and engine optimization, all delivered with the quality and repeatability expected day after day.

Fiery Central enables print service providers in medium- to high-volume print on demand environments, such as corporate reprographic departments (CRD), print for pay, and commercial printers, to increase operator efficiency and decrease turn-around times. By automating common pre-production tasks such as file preflight, imposition, and automatic image correction and enhancement, Fiery Central allows more jobs to be produced with fewer mistakes, saving time and reducing waste. Fiery Central also offers intelligent job routing and engine load balancing, maximizing Canon customers' printer investments.

Canon's Integrated Solutions Showcase is being held September 21st – 23rd at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
