Sunrise Printing Installs new Presstek 34DI

Press release from the issuing company

Hudson, NH -- Presstek, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of digital offset printing solutions, today announced that Sunrise Printing, Inc. of Chilliwack, British Columbia, has installed the Presstek 34DI digital offset press to take advantage of the growing demand for four-color short-run printing.

Sunrise had been using its two-color press to produce a growing volume of four-color printing. “It was difficult to run four-color work with our two-color press and to maintain quality and color consistency throughout the run,” says owner and production manager, Edward Lin. “We needed to find a better option so we could continue to capitalize on the growth opportunities offered by four-color, especially in the shorter run lengths.”

Not long after installing the Presstek 34DI digital offset press, Lin nabbed a monthly contract to print 15,000 to 20,000 full-color magazines with 16 to 20 pages per issue. “We would never have gotten that contract without the Presstek DI press,” Lin explains. “The client loves the glossiness of the waterless ink and the quality of the 300-line halftones.”

Shortly after the acquisition of the DI press, Sunrise Printing lost its press operator.  “I am running the press myself,” says Lin, “and I have never run a press before.  I can’t believe how easy it is to use. I have had great support from Presstek throughout the whole learning process. The 34DI press has made all the difference in the world for our business. In addition, the digital proofing system and Presstek Momentum Pro PDF workflow we acquired with the DI press has revolutionized the way we run work through the shop.  These are exciting times.”
