At ISA 2009, FUJIFILM Presents Full Spectrum of Wide Format Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. - FUJIFILM will showcase its entire portfolio of solutions - as well as new equipment - for the commercial and sign printer when this year's International Sign Expo takes place in Las Vegas on April 16-18, 2009.

Along with partners Epson, ColorGATE and Inca, Fujifilm will demonstrate the very latest technologies and devices, as well as workflow and media options, for attendees.

During the show, Fujifilm will highlight the company's new Acuity Advance UV inkjet flatbed printer. While the Acuity Advance maintains many of the leading design features of the Acuity HD2504, the Advance model incorporates a modified print head array to achieve up to 35% faster printing speeds. In production mode the print speed is up to 237 ft2/hr) while in high quality mode the speed is 161 ft2/hr. In addition, the Acuity Advance expands the possibilities with the introduction of a white ink option, to complement the standard four color CMYK offering. Utilizing Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet UV inks, the Acuity Advance delivers unmatched flexibility, allowing users to print a very opaque white under, over or between print layers.

The Fujifilm Acuity Advance UV inkjet printer has a print area of 1.25m x 2.5m (49in. x 98in.), and prints onto substrates as thick as 48mm (1.98 in.). Incorporating small drop, grayscale print head technology, the Advance delivers near-photographic image quality, and includes a true flatbed platform to easily print onto a wide variety of rigid substrates. Additionally, an optional roll-to-roll module is ideal for printing onto all types of flexible media.

Fujifilm will also demo Epson's Stylus Pro GS6000 and 9900 printers. The world's most advanced 64" solvent-based commercial outdoor printer, the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 is designed to exceed all print quality expectations and is one of the fastest roll-to-roll printers in its class.

Epson UltraChrome GS Ink technology introduces eight individual colors, including orange and green to capture one of the largest color gamuts for spot and corporate colors in the wide format arena. For unsurpassed print quality up to 91 ft2/hour or everyday production quality printing up to 180 ft2/hour, Epson has developed an all-new Dual-Array MicroPiezo AMC print head. Developed specifically for the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000, the latest print head technology has been redesigned for the demands of high-production solvent printing.

Epson's 44" Stylus Pro 9900 printer is nearly twice as fast the previous model and its state-of-the-art engines now include green and orange inks. The device also features an optional in-line spectrophotometer, resulting in tremendous time savings with the streamlining of calibration and an opportunity for making remote proofing even simpler. The Epson Stylus Pro 9900 delivers perfectly spherical dots with high precision dot placement and can print resolutions up to 2880 dpi.

Fujifilm is the exclusive dealer for Inca products in the United States and will be showing the Inca Spyder V, a flatbed inkjet printer, with an orange and violet ink option. The Inca Spyder V series has the right combination of speed, quality and affordability. It prints at speeds of 1,001 sq. ft. per hour in production mode and up to a maximum of 1,399 ft2/hour - directly onto the widest range of flexible and rigid substrates (up to 1.18" thick). The Spyder V has a 126" x 63" image area yet occupies a compact footprint. It?s available in four or six colors, plus a white configuration. Using FUJIFILM Sericol?s uniquely formulated Uvijet UV inks with Micro-V dispersion technology means wide adhesion, vibrancy and durability in every print. Fujifilm will also offer information, as well as a video presentation, on the Inca Onset S70 and S20.

Running live during the show is also Fujifilm's new Excellight backlit substrate, a remarkable printing media with both day and night properties, meaning the color and quality will remain consistent whether it?s lit from the front or the back. The substrate is of a very high quality and is compatible with both UV and solvent inks.

Driving all of these devices is ColorGATE's PRODUCTION SERVER5, a robust RIP and color management system. Capable of driving virtually all wide format devices, including all Fujifilm and Inca units, as well as a variety of digital finishing systems.

Fujifilm will show these solutions live throughout ISA 2009 at Booth #4105.
