Consolidated Press Boosts Efficiencey with Muller Martini Acoro A7

Press release from the issuing company

"The Muller Acoro A7 perfect binder has brought us into a new era of high speed set-up and productivity," states Gary R. Stone, CEO of Consolidated Press located in Washington state.  "Our set-up time has dropped to 20% of what we averaged on our older equipment and net book production is up 200%."  Among the bottom line benefits the Acoro A7 has provided to Consolidated Press is the ability to handle shorter production runs efficiently, thus increasing the company's service offering and its profit potential.  "Short-run books were never a consideration on our old binder but with the automated set-up features on the Acoro it's never a question," continues Mr. Stone.

The Acoro A7 perfect binder was installed at Consolidated Press in May, 2008.  Although Consolidated is a general commercial printer with digital press capabilities, the company emphasizes the production of bound products.  Consolidated also specializes in offering its customers the fastest possible turn times.  For both of these reasons, the Acoro A7 was an ideal fit for the printing company.  Another reason for choosing the Acoro was a high level of comfort in working with Muller Martini.  "I've been in the industry for more than 34 years and I can't name an equipment manufacturing company that has been more consistent in their customer support and product quality than Muller Martini," explains Mr. Stone.  "When you work with Muller you feel like part of the family."

The Muller Martini Acoro A7 perfect binder has been engineered for high quality, cost-effective production of a wide range of adhesive binding jobs.  The Acoro A7 operates at up to 7,000 cycles per hour and can be set up rapidly and easily.  Time and labor requirements are further reduced by automatic changeover for book thickness.  Muller Martini's Commander control system enables product specifications to be entered on the Acoro A7 by simply tapping graphic symbols on a touchscreen.  All job- and thickness-related make-ready and changeover tasks are controlled centrally, and, Commander also allows on-the-fly adjustments of individual machine settings.
