Ricoh Announces New Utility for its Print Drivers

Press release from the issuing company

Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced the release of a PrintSwitcher utility for use in conjunction with its PCL6 Driver for Universal Print V2.0 or Postscript Driver for Universal Print V1.1. The new PrintSwitcher utility streamlines the number of driver installations required to print to a wide range of printing systems from having one driver for each device to just one driver for multiple devices.

By enabling communication to each output device with a single configuration, Ricoh's PrintSwitcher utility helps companies reduce their total cost of ownership. Furthermore, allowing for a modular approach for discovery of and connection to networked devices in conjunction with the PCL6 V2.0 and Postscript V1.1 print drivers, the PrintSwitcher utility is ideal for offices made up of both traditional and mobile workers.

"Managing multiple print drivers is a constant battle for an organization, particularly for companies with multiple printing devices and mobile employees. We understand this is an issue faced by many of our customers and Ricoh is pleased to provide PrintSwitcher as the solution that will enable them to streamline this process with the ability to select devices from a single print driver," said Ron Potesky , senior vice president of Corporate Communications, Products / Solutions & Channel Marketing for Ricoh Americas Corporation. "The PrintSwitcher utility also further illustrates our commitment to helping customers simplify driver management and achieve greater document workflow efficiency."

Ricoh's PCL6 Driver for Universal Print V2.0, Postscript Driver for Universal Print V1.1 and the new PrintSwitcher utility are available as a free download from Ricoh's Web site. For more information on all Ricoh products and solutions, please visit www.ricoh-usa.com.
