Xerox Enhances Finishing Options for Production Systems

Friday, March 27, 2009

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Xerox Corporation has added a number of finishing options to its 700 Digital Color Press and the 4112TM/4127 TM family of products. The enhancements create more profit opportunities for print providers by expanding the range of professionally finished in-line applications that can be created, such as manuals, calendars, brochures and booklets.
Features now available on the 700 Digital Color Press and the 4112/4127 systems include:

    •    Integrated in-line Xerox SquareFold Trimmer Module that creases the cover and performs face trimming to ensure professionally finished booklets and manuals. This optional module creates square spine booklets that lay flat for easy handling, stacking and storing.

    •    FreeFlow Print Server version 7, which delivers enhanced color and monochrome image quality, an intuitive interface for simple job submission and customizable security features.

    •    GBC AdvancedPunch that offers a versatile range of in-line punching styles to create documents that are ready for professional mechanical binding. This automates the process of printing, collating and punching to save time, maximize productivity and lower costs.
Also available for the 700 Digital Color Press is the ability to put multiple finishing options in-line – allowing for greater functionality and flexibility to run a wide variety of print jobs with a single integrated system.
At On Demand 2009, Booth No. 2000
Xerox will showcase the capabilities of the 700 Digital Color Press by printing square fold and trimmed booklets, punched calendars and photo applications at On Demand, a major event for the document imaging industry, March 31 through April 2 in Philadelphia. Additionally, new punched, square folded and trimmed booklet application samples will be showcased for the 4112/4127 systems.
The enhancements for the 4112/4127 devices will be available for worldwide order taking in the second quarter.  The Xerox SquareFold Trimmer Module and FreeFlow Print Server version 7 for the 700 Digital Color Press will be available for order taking in North America in May 2009, and worldwide in June 2009. The GBC AdvancedPunch for the 700 Digital Color Press will be available at a later date. Contact a local Xerox sales representative for more details.
