GPO Achieves Fifth Consecutive Year of Growth

Press release from the issuing company

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) released the agency’s annual report for fiscal year (FY) 2008, which shows another year of increased revenue.  Revenue in FY 2008 increased by $103 million to $1.042 billion.  After several years of losses, GPO continues to thrive by achieving a fifth consecutive year of net income.  GPO’s Annual Report also illustrates the sustainable environmental stewardship initiatives achieved in FY 2008 and currently underway.

“These achievements are due to the hard work of the men and women of GPO,” said Public Printer Bob Tapella.  “In just five short years, GPO has gone from struggling to survive to thriving.  The employees deserve the credit for turning the agency around and into one of the largest digital information factories in the world.  Even with tight budgets expected in this coming year, GPO will enhance its contribution and fulfill its historic mission of Keeping America Informed on the documents of our democracy.”
