Allied Printing Company Receives FSC Certification

Press release from the issuing company

Ferndale, Michigan -- Allied Printing Company demonstrated its commitment to the environment by earning certification by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

In recent years, Allied has committed itself to reducing its carbon footprint via sustainability and green initiatives.  The FSC certification and its underlying ideals and mission go hand-in-hand with Allied’s goals. The mission of the FSC is to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests. The governing principles of the FSC provide assurance that forestry logging does not put the forest's natural heritage at risk and that their management controls are appropriate. The FSC certification insures compliance with the highest social and environmental forestry standards worldwide.

In order to earn FSC certification, Allied implemented a rigorous Chain-of-Custody (CoC) process throughout its manufacturing operations.  Chain-of-custody begins with the harvesting of trees in controlled forests and includes processing, production, distribution from the mill, and the print processes up to the point of a finished product reaching the end user.  The FSC certification through SmartWood will allow Allied use of the FSC logo on jobs when certified papers harvested from well-managed forests are used.  This in turn will show our clients’ support of forestry conservation as well.

Allied is a complete communications company offering offset and digital printing, data management, mailing services, warehousing , fulfillment, distribution and eCommerce. Allied is an innovator in the industry, implementing customized solutions geared towards meeting its clients’ needs for value, ROI, and quality.
