EPG KeyColor System sold to CentralWeb Offset

Press release from the issuing company

Centerbrook, Connecticut -- EPG (Essex Products Group www.epg-inc.com), a global leader in the manufacture and integration of color control systems, is pleased to announce that CentralWeb Offset, Ltd. has purchased a KeyColor C Integrated Color Control System for installation at its Calgary, Alberta, Canada facility. CentralWeb Offset is a full-service heatset and coldest printer producing newspapers and commercial products, including magazines, catalogs, directories, and other printed items. The new KeyColor C System, which will be retrofitted to a Harris M1000B press, includes two KeyColor ink desks and 16 KeyColor Smart Fountains. In addition, CentralWeb plans to integrate its prepress operations with the KeyColor System.

“EPG technology comes highly recommended from other printers in the industry,” says Earl Olsen, Vice President, CentralWeb Offset, Ltd. “We anticipate significantly reducing startup waste, improving color consistency and prepress efficiencies, and gaining the ability to produce higher quality products, overall.”

The KeyColor C is an economical ink control system that provides user-friendly, computerized control of fountain ink keys. Press operators are able to rapidly adjust ink key settings from a central ink desk to speed makeready and reduce waste. The KeyColor Smart Fountain houses actuators and the electronics that accept the digital interface from the ink desk. Integrating the KeyColor System with its prepress department will enable CentralWeb to convert digital data from a CTP system to preset all ink keys accurately for even faster makeready.
