GCC Completes Product Development Project for Kruger

Press release from the issuing company

Aliso Viejo, California -- Global Sourcing Solutions, Inc. (GSSI), a leading international sales, sourcing and logistics company, with a focus on printing, packaging and premium promotional products, today announced that GCC, the consulting arm of GSSI, has just completed a contract and partnership to develop new paper grades and markets for Kruger, Inc., a privately held Canadian paper maker.

Kruger is a fully integrated manufacturer of newsprint, directory and LWC paper grades. With overall demand for these grades decreasing in North America, Kruger has embarked on a product and market development initiative at their Wayagamack facility in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. The goal is to develop new products that will be sustainable for the long term and generate higher margins than the grades currently being made. GCC was brought in to introduce their unique product/market development process and kick start Kruger's new initiative.

GCC developed this concept several years ago and has demonstrated it to be successful with a number of paper companies. "Product development has been around for a long time and many paper mills engage in some sort of R&D to various degrees of success. The uniqueness of the GCC process comes from determining the competitive advantages of each paper machine and then developing markets that match those advantages," explained Tom Vendetti, President of GCC. "Our process is a 'no or low capital' approach to product development. It's asset-driven, rather than market driven, especially in this day and age when mills are finding it difficult to expend capital and buy equipment to make new grades. Our concept is to use the mill's existing basic advantages to enter new markets and ones that are more profitable." GCC has successfully instituted this unique approach to product development in paper mills in India, China and North America.

GCC has been consulting with clients for several years to bring global solutions to their businesses. The paper industry is just one of many business sectors that GCC is equipped to help by analyzing problems and offering low cost solutions.
